Gearing up for the government
Our many Government clients challenge us to develop strategic solutions that are sensitive to the needs of this conservative group of professionals and to the many regulations their campaigns must adhere to. Recently, we put our expertise to work for the FBI and NYPD, and delivered some impressive results.
Focusing on diversity for the FBI
We've developed many successful campaigns for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), a long-time Hodes client. In fact, we created quite a stir with our recruiting TV commercial--a new medium for this client.
This diversity-focused ad, which reached buzz-worthy status with an airing to over 2 million DC viewers durring the Super Bowl XXXIX pre-game show, was part of an ongoing campaign designed to underscore the FBI's continued commitment to diversity and efforts to increase diversity hiring. An important message for any government client in this time of increased awareness of maintaining diversity-rich workforces.
Key to the realism of the spot was the casting of a real-life Sikh FBI Intelligence Analyst. This individual not only lended credibility to the message, but demonstrated that the FBI provides great opportunities for candidates from many different backgrounds. Learn more in the case study.
Successful test marketing for the NYPD
As any police force knows, maintaining interest and excitement in a career as a police officer can be difficult during a long recruitment process. The NYPD (New York Police Department) was feeling the pressure to increase the quantity of candidates signing and showing up for their Officer's Exam. In the past, the long interval between signing up for the test and the actual test date had resulted in as high as a 70% no-attendance rate.
To tackle this problem, we devised a targeted media campaign, including the creation of an online relationship with applicants, to maintain the NYPD's recruitment message throughout the long test cycle. Our multimedia blitz encompassed 13 media venues and over 20,000 ads during a 5-month period. Our outdoor and transit ads were particularly effective, saturating the city's buses, bus shelters, subway stations, and even entire subway car interiors.
