The BLS is projecting the number of workers 65 and older to increase nearly seven times as fast as the total labor force in the coming years. Aging is no simple recruitment challenge; it’s a matter where knowledge equals success.
Bernard Hodes Group joined with ASHHRA to survey human resources leaders in the healthcare field to better understand the recruitment and retention challenges regarding mature workers in their industry. Some of the survey highlights include:
- Nearly half (47%) reported that their greatest concern is the impact of impending worker retirements.
- The need for long-term workforce plans and succession planning are two areas where the healthcare industry struggles.
- Forty-three percent are concerned about creating an accommodating work environment for their aging workforce.
