2006 Survey of Students

Key insights to help you recruit
the next generation of health care professionals

In 2004, we partnered with CampusRN.com, a health care recruitment site, to conduct our first student survey. A huge success, this survey provided valuable information on what nursing and allied health students are looking for in employers and employment opportunities.      

This year, we’ve launched our second Hodes/CampusRN.com Survey of Students.   Building upon the success of the first, this informative survey has been expanded to include more students from allied health.  In all, over 1,200 undergraduates were surveyed, covering a broad set of recruitment/retention topics, including:    

• key factors when choosing a job
• top sources for learning about jobs
• reasons for choosing a career in health care
• use of the Internet in job searching
• most important aspects of employment communications

“This is second survey we have conducted with Campus RN, and each year we uncover something new in allied health and nurse recruitment trends,” said Karen Hart, Senior Vice President, Health Care Division. “The results offer health care organizations a framework to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, so they may better meet the needs of this important target audience.”
