Moving with the times
Perhaps more than any other industry, the Transportation field is greatly affected by the ups and downs in the economy. When a recession hits, this industry is the first to experience a slowdown. This mirroring of the marketplace makes for an ever-changing recruitment landscape.
At Hodes, we've seen our clients through every dip and turn. In the low times, when layoffs were the name of the game, we were there encouraging continued employer branding and a focus on retention. And during the high times, when recruitment was fast and furious, we were there with the strategies and executions to get our clients noticed. In the years to come, as the industry begins another upswing, we'll still be there every step of the way, with the sound advice, recruitment tools and integrated campaigns our clients need to find and keep the best talent.
Transport for London: Hodes U.K. campaign nets candidates and awards
Our Hodes U.K. team was recently rewarded twice for their work with client Transport for London. First, our U.K. office was a two-time winner at the 2005 SOCPO Recruitment Communication Awards, which recognized the best performing local government and civil services HR teams in diversity, work/life balance and well-being. Drawing on recognizable elements of the Underground, like a tube map made from cables, the ads called out for engineers and program managers.
Then, this hard-working team was honored again during the EMAs (Employment Management Association's Creative Excellence Awards), with both a Grand and First Prize win for their visually stunning campaign for customer service assistants. This campaign relied on unique illustrations to convey the idea that as an assistant you'll need to be ready for anything--from spotting trouble ahead of time to lending a helping hand to customers who've got a little too much spirit. With such eye-catching visuals, the ads were definitely noticed by busy commuters at various tube stations.
