A World Premier Health Sciences University
University of California, San Francisco is the only UC Campus dedicated exclusively to the health sciences. This world-renowned institution has many notable firsts: the first dental school, as well as the first nursing school to offer a doctorate degree in nursing, west of the Mississippi. The School of Pharmacy is consistently ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report, and it was the first institution to train pharmacists as clinical health care providers.
The National Research Council ranks the university's doctoral programs in biochemistry and molecular biology first in the nation. The school's genetics program ranks second, cell biology third, and its neuroscience program ranks fourth in the country.

The Wall Street of the West
Since the early days of the California Gold Rush, San Francisco has been a principal banking and finance center on the West coast. Often referred to as "the Wall Street of the West," the city's Financial District is home to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo, one of the world's largest financial institutions. You'll also find one of only six US Mint facilities in the country, and more than 60 foreign banks are centered here. The Transamerica Pyramid, a landmark building dominating the city's skyline, is located at the end of the Financial District.

Happy New Year!
Many Americans ring in the New Year with a ten-second countdown. In San Francisco's Chinatown, however, the Chinese New Year celebration starts in February and lasts for two weeks. Billed as the largest Asian event in North America, the fun kicks-off with the Chinese New Year Flower Fair, February 10-11, 2007. More than 400,000 people come here to purchase their annual lunar New Year flowers and produce.
San Francisco is home to one of the largest Chinese populations outside of Asia. According to the 2000 Census, nearly two-thirds of the Asian-Americans living in the city are Chinese, which makes them the largest minority group in the metro area.
With six Chinese daily newspapers battling it out for readers in the marketplace - Sing Tao Daily, World Journal, China Times, International Daily News, China Press, and Ming Pao - how do you know which one to advertise in? Unfortunately, none of them has an audited circulation. But, Sing Tao is more dominant in San Francisco, while World Journal has a strong base in the South Bay.
