Tom joined Hodes in October 2015 as Head of Social. His role reaches across social media, content and digital – leading the agency in how to leverage these increasingly powerful platforms for employers around the world. From strategy creation and community management, to team training and digital campaigns – Tom’s knowledge of all things social allows him to analyse and create solutions for the Snapchat-generation, as well as more experienced social audiences.
Tom holds a Business degree from the University of Portsmouth, where he graduated from in 2010. His professional career began at a small start-up in Oxford, running their marketing and outreach program, which included his first foray into social media. From here Tom moved to his first Digital agency in 2011, Collective. It was while working at this boutique agency in Clerkenwell that his passion for social media bloomed – creating bespoke, strategically led campaigns for the likes of Honda and EA Sports. With the increased demand for integrated social campaigns and strategies, a new opportunity at socially focussed agency Jam (now DF London) opened, with Tom moving over to work with international brands such as Samsung, Microsoft and Capital One.
Winning a number of awards with Jam, Tom made the move into the non-profit sector with WWF-UK (Worldwide Fund for Nature). While at WWF-UK, Tom introduced a number of essential processes to increase engagement and conversion, creating a strategy that would enable the organisation to mobilise its huge supporter base. After successfully integrating the strategy, a new opportunity at Marie Curie arose. Similarly to WWF, Tom was part of a new Digital team, where he created and implemented a strategy to focus their online presence into a powerful fundraising and awareness driver. Having now joined Hodes, Tom leads an in-house team of social experts, producing brilliant work for some truly exceptional clients.
Tom is an avid traveller and footballer, playing for his local team and coaches their Under-12s squad. After catching the travelling-bug, Tom’s next big adventure is to climb Aconcagua in Argentina.
